Neal J. Petrucci 90+ Luncheon

In 1998 Neal Petrucci organized and hosted our first 90+ Luncheon. His vision was to seek out and honor people who hAngela House Shelter Supportad reached their 90th birthday. Members of our club chauffeur the honorees in a limousine to and from the location and we treat them to a gala luncheon. We present them with certificates and proclamations from our local officials. We read a bio of their life and invite their families. All we ask is that they share with us their secret to longevity.

Neal passed away in 2003, two years shy of his own 90th birthday. We honor his memory by continuing this lovely project annually.

Nurse Appreciation Awards Dinner

In 2010, New club member Annette Volino organized our first annual Nurse Appreciation Awards Dinner. Club members contact local nursing groups to gather nominations and we honor nurses representing local hospitals and nursing homes. They are treated to a lovely dinner and receive awards, certificates and proclamations from our local officials.

Addressing the Needs of Children

Kamp Kiwanis is located in Taburg, NY in the heart of the Adirondacks. Every summer we send two or three children for a one week stay. For pictures and more information about this beautiful place, visit the website.

We collected materials for 31 children for Andrus Back Pack Project. The Andrus Children's Center serves the needs of 2,500 children across 11 sites throughout Westchester County. In 2011 they added the Greyston Foundation to their list. Very grateful past President and webmaster, Nancy Shaw, worked for Greyston in its early days. Guess where she learned to use a computer?

At Christmastime we fill shoe boxes with gifts for the Samaritan's Purse and send them to children all over the world.

And right now we are dsicussing ideas for a new service projecy with the new Ronald McDonald Hosue at the Maria Fareri Children's Hospital at the Westchester Universtity Hospital Medical Center. We want to create an event that would enrich the lives of their young patients.
